Brandon Allen has established himself as one of the UK's most in demand saxophonists and bandleaders.

Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Brandon relocated to London in 2000. Since arriving in the UK, he has worked with many well established artists and groups/ensembles as a saxophonist.

He has performed extensively worldwide, both as a leader and sideman, working with top international artists including Eric Clapton, Paloma Faith, US3, The Blockheads and numerous others; while his Jazz work includes; Kyle Eastwood, Adam Nussbaum, Guy Barker, Jools Holland & Gary Husband A559BrandonAllen

Brandon is also busy as a session musician and is an accomplished jazz composer and arranger, writing for multiple artists and for his own various jazz groups. A composer of music for Film and TV productions; his distinctive saxophone sound has been featured on film soundtracks including; "Alfie"(2004) and "The Look of Love" (2013)

Allen has taught privately for over 25 years and is currently a professor at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London).

The Groove Band performs new contemporary jazz/groove compositions as well as fresh interpretations of unheard material from Brandon's previous funk outfit (Double Whisky Amnesia), rearranged specifically for this line-up.

The musical influences for this band come from the likes of; Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Harris, Lalo Schifrin, Tom Scott, David Sanborn, The Brecker Brothers and Vangelis.

Although it's a relatively new group, the band has already sold out 2 nights at Ronnie Scott's and has a busy touring schedule in the works for 2024/25; the band is also due to record sometime in March/April 2024.

Mike Outram


Mike Outram is highly regarded as one of the UK's most accomplished and virtuosic guitarists.

Mike has toured and/or recorded with Carleen Anderson, Tim Garland, Chick Corea, Steven Wilson, Nikki Iles, Herbie Mann, The Cinematic Orchestra, Laura Rossi and others.

He is also an extremely respected jazz educator and in general, a bit of a 'guitar guru'.

Jim Watson has been the first call pianist/keyboardist/MD for many of the world's top artists for the last 20 years. A freelance Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer and Improviser. Jim studied at Leeds College of Music (BA Hons) then at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. London/Suffolk based Jim is currently working with Manu Katche.

Recent work includes Sting, Katie Melua, Kurt Elling, Chrissie Hynde, Incognito, Richard Bona, Raul Midon, Zero 7, Incognito & Meshell Ndegeocello amongst others...

Jim is an extremely dynamic performer and he creates many different textural layers and rhythmic intricacies on the keyboards.

Chris Attwell is an English electric bass player/composer born in Bournemouth, England. At the age of 25 he moved to Valencia (Spain) where he co-founded the jazz/fusion group Valmuz. Valmuz has gone on to win various musical awards across the globe including 1st place at the International Jazz Competition in Romania in 2019.

Chris is now based back in London and continues to build on his reputation as one of the country's finest electric bassists. His highly fluent style and broad sonic palette is a welcome addition to Brandon's Groove Band; following work with Blue, Rainer Hersch, Perico Sambeat & Jorge Pardo

Jamie Murray

Jamie Murray, is one of the best up & coming drummers around. A forward thinking conceptual player with a solid groove style and an open-minded approach to free experimentation. His live performances are always fresh and exhilarating!

Jamie has a strong sense of writing; his own compositions are personal and original, with an Electronic-Jazz-Fusion-style attached to them.

Jamie has played with most of his contempories in London, as well as crossing into the electronic pop world. he's played and recording with Jazz giants from the Sun Ra Arkestra- Knoel Scott & Cecil Brooks as well as numourous major jazz musicians, country wide.

Currently Jamie is involved in a number of projects; consistently touring Europe and the USA as a sideman and also as a bandleader. His current projects "Beat Replacement" and "JZ Replacement" have enabled Jamie to perform across the world in the Jazz-crossover genre performing with some of the most innovative and forward-thinking musicians of today.

His first album "Disrespectful" featuring bass legend Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Donny McCaslin, Vinnie Colaiuta) and Russian sax master Zhenya Strigalev (Eric Harland, Ambrose Akinmusire, Aaron Parks) is out via "Rainy Days" record label on all music platforms.
