Brandon Allen has established himself as one of the UK's most in demand saxophonists and bandleaders.
Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Brandon relocated to London in 2000. Since arriving in the UK, he has worked with many well established artists and groups/ensembles as a saxophonist.
He has performed extensively worldwide, both as a leader and sideman, working with top international artists including Eric Clapton, Paloma Faith, US3, The Blockheads and numerous others; while his Jazz work includes; Kyle Eastwood, Adam Nussbaum, Guy Barker, Jools Holland & Gary Husband
Brandon is also busy as a session musician and is an accomplished jazz composer and arranger, writing for multiple artists and for his own various jazz groups. A composer of music for Film and TV productions; his distinctive saxophone sound has been featured on film soundtracks including; "Alfie"(2004) and "The Look of Love" (2013)
Allen has taught privately for over 25 years and is currently a professor at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London).
The 'Stanley Turrentine Project' came about because of Brandon's deep admiration for the late great saxophonist. Turrentine was a major artist on the Blue Note record label and a legend of the tenor sax; renowned for his distinctively thick, rippling tone; possessing a deep grounding in the blues. His ability to work a groove with soul and imagination, set him apart in the Hard Bop era. Stanley was a well known sideman to the likes of Ray Charles, Max Roach and Earl Bostic; but he's probably best known for leading his own groups on his Blue Note 'soul-jazz jams' of the 60s; and his Jazz-Fusion period during the early 70s.
"....Brandon Allen is arguably the most exciting tenor player in Britain today. His phrasing is unashamedly emotional, soaked in the blues tradition......"
Tony Hall, JAZZWISE Magazine
Will Barry is a pianist, drummer and percussionist from London who graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2016.
