Florian, Michael (twin brothers) and Thomas have collectively and individually toured and played with the likes of Kirk Lightsey, Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, Dave Liebman, Wolfgang Puschnig, Bennie Maupin, Matthieu Michel, Claudio Pontiggia and others. In classical music they worked with Heinz Holliger, Pierre Boulez, Kent Nagano and Paul Sacher. In 2000 Florian received the European Award of Culture (supporting his engagement in jazz and classical music).
Vein are a piano trio with a difference. These guys can play together at a new level of straight-eight interaction... They don’t really sound like anybody, but do proceed (way) out of the Evans-Bley tradition. This might seem a short and flimsy account of the musical personalities they have associated with, however without writing reams and reams about them, the quality of those associates is good enough to shout loud in a few lines. Instead take a look at the live reviews and album review below and sneak a peak at the videos, I think they are evidence enough this is a goody?
